Personalized Non-Woven Tote Bags, Logo Imprinted Non-Woven Tote Bags

Reusable bags are extremely popular with consumers right now.  Retailers like grocers are offering them for sale as “green” alternatives to personalized plastic shopping bags. They’re often given away at trade shows or as gifts-with-purchase in retail stores.  But smaller businesses and advertisers may struggle with the cost of traditional custom imprinted tote bags made of fabric.  That doesn’t mean that small advertisers can’t get in on the reusable bag craze, though. Personalized non-woven totes are an excellent alternative to woven fabric tote bags, but they cost significantly less, making them an affordable and viable option for small businesses.

What is a Non-Woven Tote?

Most fabrics, like the fabric that makes up the clothing you wear, is woven.  In other words, it is comprised of many fibers/threads that have been woven together to form a large piece of cloth.  From this, you may deduce that “non-woven” fabric is created in some other manner besides weaving threads/fibers together, but how does this work, exactly?

Non-woven material is made of long fibers that are bonded together through some type of process other than weaving.  They may be bonded by heat or some type of mechanical or chemical process and formed into a piece of fabric.  This type of material isn’t as strong as woven material and so it is not typically used to make clothing items.  It has a plethora of other applications, though.  Because it is less expensive than regular fabric, it is often used in applications where a fabric is needed, but the item isn’t expected to be subjected to rough wear or tough conditions.  Tote bags are a perfect example of an application which can utilize non-woven material in order to create a less costly product.

This is not to say that non-woven tote bags aren’t durable.  In fact, depending on the type of fibers used and the process by which they are bonded together, non-woven fabric can be quite tough and durable.  Sometimes it is even treated with a coating or other process that gives the fabric extra strength and durability.  And, because the fibers don’t have to be woven together, non-woven materials can sometimes be made with recycled fabrics.

Other than the fabric (and the final price tag), personalized non-woven totes are no different than ordinary promotional tote bags.  They can be imprinted in the very same manner as a regular tote bag and are available in a wide range of colors.  The pieces that form the bag are sewn together in the same way as ordinary fabric bags.  Best of all, they cost, on average, 50 to 60 percent less than woven totes.  So, even if your advertising budget is slim, you can still afford to invest in logo imprinted non-woven tote bags.  It’s a fun way to advertise, and your bags will make an eco-friendly alternative to personalized plastic shopping bags and undoubtedly be used again and again.
